Stephen G. Bunker, a professor of sociology and rural sociology at UW–Madison, died Tuesday, July 19, at his home in Hollandale, Wis. A longtime professor who joined the UW–Madison faculty in 1989, Bunker was known as a skilled and dynamic instructor who taught courses that explored the links between economics and ecology.

Former Engineering secretary dies
Longtime UW–Madison employee Mary Jane Krider-Weinstein, 87, died Jan. 9 in Rhode Island, where she had been living for several years. She retired in 1983 as secretary for the School of Engineering.
Former Hillel director dies
Human rights champion, master teacher and former executive director of Hillel, Irving Saposnik, died Nov. 20 of a particularly aggressive brain tumor. He was 67.
