Photo gallery Come rain or shine, tassels will be turned

Cool, rainy weather failed to dampen the excitement of commencement weekend at UW–Madison, when nearly 7,500 are expected to participate in graduation ceremonies.

The weather was warm and sunny for most of this week, allowing graduates to get photos on the lap of the Abraham Lincoln statue on Bascom Hill. But Friday was cooler and rainy, and more of that is expected on Saturday.

The ceremony is scheduled to be held at Camp Randall Stadium beginning at noon Saturday rain or shine. At 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Kohl Center is the ceremony for PhD, MFA and Medical Degree candidates. No tickets are required for either ceremony and there is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may bring.
