Campus safety report now available

UW-Madison’s 2010 campus safety report and guide is now available on the new Web site of the Division of Student Life, http://students.wisc.edu.

This guide contains information about a wide range of safety-related topics and resources, along with crime statistics. Universities are required by federal law to produce the report and send notice to the community about it every October.

“Crime continues to be an important concern for our campus and city,” says Dean of Students Lori Berquam. “I believe everyone can play a role in enhancing safety, crime prevention and emergency preparedness at UW–Madison.”

“Every day, there are simple steps you can take to raise your awareness and decrease your vulnerability to crime,” she adds. “One important step is to be aware of the latest crime and safety resources.”

Printed copies of can be downloaded as a PDF file directly from the Web or can be requested from the Division of Student Life by calling 263-5700, or in person at 75 Bascom Hall.

The report comes in addition to UW–Madison’s campus safety Web site, http://www.safeu.wisc.edu.
